Just read an interesting study about melatonin and its effect on your third eye, or your pineal gland. The gland is located just above the space between your eyes and is extremely sensitive to the artificial light we experience every day in modern life. Studies have shown, specifically for women, that constant exposure to artificial light from TVs, computers, street lamp lights, or radio can promote cancer cell growth.

So to sleep better and decrease your risk for cancer, cover your third eye:

  1. Shut off the TV at night
  2. Sleep in a dark room
  3. Sleep with an eye mask (the mask pictured above is just like Holly Golightly’s in Breakfast in Tiffany’s)
  4. Set your clock radio light on low levels or off
  5. Install dimmers in your bathrooms so the light gently turns on, instead of a brightly flashing your third eye
